The kebab shop is a narrative environment. If we define a narrative environment quite simply as the telling of a story in space the kebab satisfies these requirements. There are various other components that are significant such as audience, author and context and and these can drastically change the meaning of the narrative environment. 

For example, a real kebab shop and fictional kebab shop, such as one that might exist within You Me Bum Bum Train, despite their aesthetic similarities are different because of context, authorship and the expectations of the audience.
